Baseus GaN3 Pro Desktop Powerstrip Review Verdict
The Baseus GaN3 Pro Desktop Powerstrip is a fantastic solution for keeping your devices juiced up without grappling with a bulky traditional plug strip. Since most modern phones and tablets eschew a wall charger in the box, you’ll likely just use a USB-C cable for charging. Additionally, even many laptops such as the Apple MacBook Pro and ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 rely on USB Type-C chargers.
Outfitted with a pair of traditional three-prong AC wall sockets, the Baseus GaN 3 Pro desktop fast charger let me hook up my LG 34-inch ultrawide monitor and HP gaming desktop. Then, using the USB ports, I was able to connect my Samsung Galaxy S9+ phone, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition tablet, Lenovo ThinkPad T15 laptop, and a power bank.
Even with six devices plugged in, the Baseus Gan III Pro tackled charging like a champ. I had no issues keeping everything juiced up, and fast charged for that matter. Build quality is great, and the modest footprint takes up scant desk space. A useful LED indicator light shows the current charging status.
In addition to serving as a great charger for at-home use, the compact 6.8 x 3.8x 1.85 inch dimensions and light 15.5-ounce weight makes it pretty portable. A 45-degree angled flat plug ensures you won’t block other devices plugged into a duplex wall socket.
Unfortunately, the front four USB ports are limited to 65W total. As such, more power-hungry gadgets might need to be plugged into one of the two AC outlets. With a single device plugged in, both of its USB Type-C headers can output up to 65W while USB Type-A 2 can handle 60W. But once you plug in multiple electronics to its USB ports, that 65W of power delivery gets split across the active USB jacks.
Still, that’s a small price to pay. For larger devices like gaming laptops, desktops, and PC monitors, the dual AC sockets work just fine. And for most folks, 65W total power delivery across four USB ports is more than enough.
Baseus GaN3 Pro Desktop Powerstrip Design and Build
The Baseus 65W GaN3 USB-C Charging Station clocks in at just 15.5 ounces, measuring 6.8 x 3.8x 1.85 inches. In front, you’ll find four USB ports: two USB-C jacks and dual USB Type-A hosts.
Around the left side of the unit, there’s a single three-prong AC wall socket.
The right-hand side of the plug strip also sports a three-prong AC wall socket.
Around back, a solitary 4.92-foot cord runs out from the Baseus, ending in a 45-degree angled wall socket.
Final Thoughts: Should You Buy the Baseus GaN3 Pro Desktop Powerstrip?
Overall, the Baseus Gan 3 Pro desktop fast charger is an excellent piece of kit. It accomplishes its job-juicing up a bevy of devices-extremely well. Despite its small stature, the Baseus GaN 3 Pro doesn’t skimp on connectivity or power output. You’ll find ample hookups for phones, tablets, laptops, headphones, and even more power-hungry electronics like monitors or gaming laptops via its dual AC three-prong wall sockets.
The USB ports are limited to 65W of total power delivery, but that shouldn’t hinder everyday use. For instance, since the MacBook Air requires 45W and the iPhone necessitates 20W, you can juice up a laptop and smartphone simultaneously. Ultimately, the Baseus GaN III Pro is a fantastic charger for use at home or on the go. For a more portable GaN 3 charger, consider the Voltme Revo or EZQuest UltimatePower.
