The Purazlenz P1500 is a small but mighty air purifier. It’s capable of cleaning up to 1,500 square feet, making the P1500 suitable for medium-sized areas such as apartments, living rooms, offices, and classrooms. At its core, the Puraclenz packs a commercial-grade photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) cell. With its PCO technology, the P1500 eliminates biological contaminants while generating a purifying plasma to reduce mold and airborne odors without ozone.

Puraclenz P1500 Review - Accessories

A washable pre-filter works in conjunction with the PCO large cell filter. Rather than a suction-based HEPA air filtration system, the Puraclenz actively treats surfaces and air outside of the air purifier itself. With several mounting options, you can install the P1500 on a wall, ceiling, or simply set it on a table. At under 3 pounds (lbs.) and measuring just 11 x 5.1 inches, the Puraclenz is easy to tote around–even more so thanks to its built-in handle. With a sub-48dBA sound level, it’s incredibly quiet.

Puraclenz P1500 Review Verdict

Puraclenz P1500 Review - Air Purifier

The Purazlenz P1500 is small, unassuming, and extremely competent. Packing a PCO commercial large cell purifier that works alongside a washable pre-filter, the P1500 reduced airborne odors, mold, dust, and allergens while producing purifying plasma without any ozone. Rumor has it, the Puraclenz even reduces the odor of marijuana. Despite a modest footprint of just 11 x 5.1 inches, the Puraclenz can clean up to 1,500 square feet.

I was impressed with its cleaning capabilities which noticeably reduced dust and pet hair in my home. As a dude with long hair that has a dachshund yorkie (also known as a dorkie) companion, there’s a lot of hair-shedding since my dog and I are both shaggy boys. However, the Puraclenz successfully cut down on the normal pet hair accumulation. Likewise, I intentionally went a bit longer than normal between vacuum sessions, and in my testing, the Puraclenz P1500 cut down on dust build-up.

Because of its light weight and compact form factor, the Puraclenz P1500 is easy to carry from room to room. I appreciated both its portability and low noise output: with a noise level of 48dBA, it’s nearly unnoticable while running.

Unline many air purifiers, the Puraclenz lacks dedicated controls for setting the fan speed. That may disappoint some users, although I enjoyed its silent operation and single speed. At around $400 USD regularly priced, the P1500 isn’t cheap, but for the cost, you get a powerful commercial-grade, ozone-free air purifier capable of cleaning up to 1,500 square feet. Overall, if you want to seriously improve your indoor air quality, the Puraclenz P1500 is one of the best air purifiers on the market.

Underneath, four feet keep the P1500 elevated, while the detachable power cord slots neatly inside the bottom of the unit.

Puraclenz P1500 Replacement Parts

Replacement parts are crucial to consider when purchasing an air purifier. Even if an air purifier is cheap to buy initially, it could be costly, or nearly impossible, to maintain in the long-run depending on the price and availability of replacement parts. Thankfully, the P1500 is extremely well supported. You can easily buy a replacement PCO cell and pre-filter for the Puraclenz, at reasonable prices nonetheless.

The Competition: Puraclenz P1500 Alternatives

In addition to its P1500, Puraclenz also offers the P750 which can handle up to 750 square feet (69 square meters) for smaller spaces, and the P3000 which can purify up to 3,000 square feet (278 square meters).

The Winix 5300-2 is a great true HEPA air purifier with PlasmaWave technology built-in. It is larger than the Puraclenz P1500, less expensive, but only covers a fraction of the square footage at 360. Additionally, some ozone is released by PlasmaWave, albeit not at harmful levels.

Dreo’s Macro Pro H13 air purifier is an excellent option with true HEPA filtration, a high 679 square feet of coverage, and low 20dB mode. It’s less costly than the P1500, but doesn’t offer the purification coverage of the Puraclenz.

However, most residential air purifiers are HEPA suction-based. As such, the Puraclenz gives you a commercial-grade air purifier without paying several thousand dollars.

Should You Buy the Puraclenz P1500?

If you’re looking for an outstanding ozone-free air purifier with a large coverage area, the Puraclenz P1500 is a fantastic choice. It boasts a PCO cell that gives you commercial-grade air filtration. The price could be a bit cheaper, but the P1500’s combination of powerful air cleansing, quiet operation, and a small footprint makes it a solid choice for improving indoor air quality.

Puraclenz P1500 Review: Final Thoughts

In the end, the Puraclenz P1500 is an exceptional air purifier that sports a larger coverage area than most competing air purifiers while coming in a compact package. The PCO cell means it’s completely ozone-free, and the P1500 is fantastic at eliminating allergens, odors, mold, and other unwanted particualtes from the air.
