The backup camera is generally good, though since it’s outside the car, and installation method varies moreso than mounting the dash cam, individual results may differ.

Considering the ease of installation, camera quality, and bevy of accessories, the Auto Vox M6 is arguably the best third-party dash cam backup cam kit available. I appreciate that it includes both the dash cam and backup camera, plus all necessary parts and pieces. Video quality is superb, and the backup camera plus dash cam provide added safety which is easy to retrofit any car with.

Ultimately, if you’re looking for an aftermarket dash cam and backup camera, the Auto Vox M6 backup camera and dash cam kit is a worthy contender. It’s affordable yet high quality, and a breeze to install. Be forewarned that installing the backup camera might be a challenge for novices, and is something I’m paying my mechanic to install. Still, the price of labor shouldn’t be high, and the cost of the kit is low enough that it’s worth paying for professional installation.
