1more Triple Driver in-ear Headphones Review

It’s not uncommon to see headphones retailing for hundreds of dollars. Many premium headphones come with the likes of noise cancellation and Bluetooth. But the 1more triple driver in-ear earbuds take a different approach. The hi-res audio buds come in a wired earbud form factor, opting for a slimmer profile than on- or over-the-ear cans while upping the driver count. But do more drivers make a difference? Shockingly, yes, the 1more triple driver earbuds actually deliver quality sound in a solid package.

1more Triple In-ear Headphones Specs and Build Quality

THX is a renowned symbol for audiophiles, and the 1more triple driver earbuds are branded the world’s first THX-certified headphones. Onboard, you’ll find a whopping three drivers: two balanced armatures and a separate dynamic driver. This combination delivers lush sound ranging from booming bass to breathy mids and highs. Producer, mixer, and sound engineer Luca Bignardi partnered with 1more for tuning. The braided cord is comprised of an enameled oxygen-free copper wire enshrouded in a kevlar fiber while the earbuds themselves are constructed of durable yet lightweight aluminum alloy with an anodized surface. A MEMs microphone makes for crystal clear voice calls, while the in-line volume and playback controls allow for ease of operation. In the box you’ll find nine different ear tips of differing sizes, both foam and silicone. Plus, there’s a leather case, clip for securing the cord to your clothing, and a two-prong plane headphone adapter.

1more Triple Driver Earbuds Review – Premium Sound Without a Premium Pricetag

1more triple driver in-ear headphones review

I admit, when I popped in the 1more triple driver earbuds, I didn’t expect much. While I’m something of an audiophile, I have a strong appreciation for budget headphones like my beloved active noise canceling (ANC) Tribit QuietPlus cans. But the 1more headphones blew me away. Finding the right ear tip is crucial to getting optimal sound quality since earbuds rely on a good seal in your ear canal. Otherwise, you’ll suffer from tinny sound and flat bass. First up, I tested the 1more with just the 3.5mm headphone out on my Samsung Galaxy S9+. Bass performance was weighty with a powerful low-frequency response, and punchy mids and highs. “X” by ScHoolboy Q, 2 Chainz, and Saudi oozed forth with plenty of bass oomph without muddying the high-hats and vocals. On The Grateful Dead’s “Friend of the Devil,” the layered guitars remained distinct and delineated with crisp, clean vocals. Likewise, John Lee Hooker’s crooning baritone proved rich with drums, piano, guitars, and vocals afforded their equal weight.

Additionally, I tested the 1more triple driver headphones with 1more’s hi-definition Bluetooth LDAC adapter. With its built-in 3.5mm audio jack and Bluetooth 5.0 onboard, it offers a wireless high-resolution listening solution even with wired earbuds. Boasting LDAC and AAC compatibility, the Bluetooth adapter noticeably improved the already excellent sound quality of the triple driver buds. I streamed Jay Electronica’s A Written Testimony on Tidal and audio quality was top-notch. “The Ghost of Soulja Slim” featured drums that absolutely slapped while Jay Elec’s complex rhyming vocals stayed crisp.

Should You Buy the 1more Triple Driver Earbuds? Final Thoughts

In an age where, for the average consumer, wired earbuds have largely been phased out both out of convenience and necessity with many mobile devices foregoing headphone jacks, it’s almost strange to recommend a wired set of in-ear buds. Nevertheless, 1more’s triple driver earphones rival Bose SoundSport headphones and at a fraction of the price. With excellent packaging including an array of different ear tips, a leather carrying case, and shirt clip plus superb build quality, the triple driver earbuds deliver audiophile caliber sound quality at an affordable price point. The only major downside is lack of wireless listening. Since my Android handset retains a 3.5mm jack, this wasn’t an issue. However, for those without that luxury, the 1more Bluetooth LDAC provides a good solution for wireless listening.
