The Edifier G2000 stereo computer speakers come in an eye-catching hexagonal shape. The left-channel speaker features on its left-hand side a power button, volume control, and a button to change its inputs as well as toggle on various EQ modes. Around the back of the left-channel speaker is a USB port, 3.5mm AUX input jack, 3.5mm subwoofer output port, and DC input barrel jack connector.

The Edifier G2000 PC computer speakers may be geared towards gaming, but I found them versatile enough to handle all sorts of content including movies and music. In my testing, the G2000 sounded fantastic regardless of what I was playing.

G2000 Speakers Gaming Performance

Video games sound excellent on the G2000 speakers. Whether over USB, the aux. input, or wirelessly via Bluetooth, I enjoyed the rich, full audio quality. Despite lacking surround sound capabilities, I could still make out distinct audio pans which helped out in being able to detect in-game footsteps coming from a particular direction. Bass response is robust – explosions rattled convincingly – without overpowering voices or other effects.

While playing Hitman (2016), I appreciated the superb audio handling. The orchestral score, chatter of background voices, and enemy footsteps were all readily apparent.

Entertainment Evaluation – Edifier G2000 Stereo Speakers

Although the G2000 is marketed as pair of gaming speakers, they’re great for movies and music too. “Spider-Man: Homecoming” sounded excellent. Equal grace is given to the mids and highs, and bass response is shockingly good. Despite being a stereo audio system, and a compact pair of speakers at that, the G2000 delivers a much bigger sound than its small size suggests. I appreciated the good delineation of sound effects for a rich, full soundstage. Overall, the G2000 packs quite a punch.

For bass heads, a subwoofer output allows you to connect a dedicated sub and enjoy even louder low-end performance. “X” by Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolyboy Q, 2 Chainz, and Saudi boomed with ample bass without overpowering the vocals. “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer” by John Lee Hooker danced out of the G2000 highlighting Hooker’s warbling vocals while maintaining a crisp, clean element for the bass, guitar, drums, and keys. Grateful Dead’s “Friend of the Devil” sounded exquisite, with absolutely no muddying of it layered guitars. For listening to music and watching movies, the Edifier G2000 work like a champ.

Edifier G2000 2.0 Bluetooth RGB Gaming Speakers – Review Verdict

If you’re looking for a well-priced, compact set of stereo speakers for gaming and entertainment, the Edifier G2000 are a worthy choice. The G2000 can get shockingly loud, particularly for their modest size. And despite a modest size as well as lack of a subwoofer in their 2.0-channel configuration, the G2000 delivers wonderful bass response.

Inputs are plentiful – with a USB connection, 3.5mm input, and Bluetooth wireless connectivity, you can hook up just about any device, from computers to game consoles and Blu-ray players. Onboard controls are easy to use and intuitive. The non-detachable tethered cable is long enough for most desk layouts, although some users may be disappointed about the lack of a detachable audio cable running between the two speakers.

The LED accent lighting is fun and successfully adds a gamer flair. However, the LEDs aren’t particularly bright. Although that does prevent the accent lighting from becoming distracting, certain gamers may be let down by the somewhat dim LEDs. But I liked the muted coloring which served as gentle backlighting during gaming sessions.

Ultimately, the Edifier G2000 packs quite a wallop. Capable of getting extremely loud with no noticeable quality loss while conserving desk space, the G2000 looks and sounds fantastic. Bass response is outstanding, especially for the size, and Bluetooth alongside a pair of wired inputs allows you to hook up just about any device you own, from desktops and laptops to phones, MP3 players, and game consoles.
